Stem cell therapy for Ankylosing Spondylitis

Posted by brie @brie, Aug 28, 2019

Hello, I am curious about the effectiveness of stem cell therapy with Ankylosing Spondylitis or Autoimmune Illnesses. Has any one read or heard; is it available, does insurance cover it, is it effective?

Thanks for the reply. I have another question. I had an mri if my hip and it stated that I have a congenital sulcus as oppose to a labrum tear, yet the sulcus produces clicking and pain in the Left hip, groin and leg buttock. Do you have any info o congenital sulcus? Thanks

@kreisbmb I wasn’t good at finding anything! Sorry. I’m going to ask our internet guru @johnbishop to help. Were you reading the report of the MRI? You might want to talk to the doctor who ordered the test. If you are seeing your primary care doctor, ask him/her and explain the clicking and pain you experience. Another suggestion is to look at the group Bones, muscles and joints. You can access this by going to the 3 horizontal lines at the top right of this page. Click on groups, the group directory, and all the groups should show up. Click on the Bones, Muscles, and Joints group—it will open and you can see all the ongoing discussions. I hope this helps a little. But be sure to talk with your doctor

@kreisbmb the following article talks about hip pain and a clicking sound but it's under the section for a hip labral tear. I couldn't find any information that it might be caused by a congenital sulcus. Has your doctor mentioned specifically what it causing the clicking and the pain?

Unfortunately, I have not brought that up to my primary care doctor. I’ve tried Nanking appointments with the Cleveland clinic orthopedist in Florida, but I am on bed rest after my biopsy. I’ll get answers soon. I attached a copy of the mri report, the impression states congenital sulcus versus detachment. So confused.

Hi @kreisbmb, please note that I removed the image of your MRI report. It contained your patient ID number (MRN) and other identifying information, which is not advisable in a open forum. Feel free to share the report again with personal identifying information blacked out or removed.
