Sleeve Procedure/Hunger

Posted by axtell @axtell, 2 days ago

My doctor has recommended the sleeve procedure for permanent weightloss. I have always gained weight after stopping glp-1 drugs.
A huge concern is that without interventions I never feel full. This has always been a problem. I eat until I get tired. My stomach does not tell my brain I have had enough to eat. I am always hungry.
My fear is that after the surgery I will still feel hunger.
Hope to hear from yall...

Welcome to Mayo Connect. After bariatric surgery you have smaller stomach and feel fuller with less food. You may still feel hungry, especially right after surgery when your on a restrictive diet while healing. You will still have craving. You will have to make life style changes and control your eating.

It is important that you select a program that provides a team of providers. Majority will require an evaluation and classes prior to surgery and provide support after classes.

Have you meet with a surgeon yet?
