Skin peeling after shower

Posted by crystalena @crystalena, Jan 4 8:11am

I am 79 years here. I am at stage 4 emphysema for 17 months. I take the coolest temperature and shortest timed shower that I can . I had problems with legs(mostly lower legs). The next day the skin on them would peel off profusely. When I applied moisture creams the skin still peeled and combined with the cream . I had skin flakes on the floor where I changed my clothing and all over the inside of the clothing and in my bed. My Doctor recommended I use. Aquaphor Healing Ointment . I don’t think it stopped the peeling . The profuse peeling stops when it is finished . I put this ointment on my legs and tried a shower. I made sure the water spray did not hit my legs . It was aimed at my upper chest and shoulder. The next day my shoulder and upper arm did the same peel process for 3 days . Anyone have any experience with this ?

Thanks . Same , I have been reading in it after your note . I am fairly sure this is the answer to my peeling cause , I thank you for the info. BB, Crystalena

One must remember that water is a dehydrator on the skin… lotions did not seem to work so I am now using fragrance, free soap and baby oil on my husband’s legs… I will let you know how it works. Oil and lubricants should always be used sparingly and must be totally rubbed into the skin… Not on dry skin. I use Dermend on my arms and I am trying it on his arms… I will let you all know how this goes.
