Should vitamin d & k be taken at same time? Zzz

Recently diagnosed w osteoporosis. Reading book rebuild your bones by mira& Jayson calton. They said not to take vitamin d & k together because they compete with each other. Taking bone strength slim tablets. My question is that if it includes both of these vitamins then Why do most supplements combine the vit d & k together? Or should I be taking them separately. I am thankful I found this site to help me.

It's my understanding that they should be taken together. I'd like to know if this is incorrect.

Also, ChatGPT states that they work synergistically - one helps build bones and one helps deliver to bones.

I suggest you talk with your pharmacist for advice as they are the experts on medications and supplements.

Would love further clarification on this excellent question.

Everything I've been able to find is that you can take them together and that they do not compete with one another. That includes research studies.

I've been taking them together for 2.5 years, and I'm doing great.

Also, the book mentioned by the OP has a number of one-star reviews on Amazon, including one from a doctor. There are better books out there.

I take them together (in the same pill). Haven’t seen anything about issues taking them together. The two that I take separately are calcium and magnesium. (Although sometimes they are presented in the same pill, too).

Good question- hope someone here has info—my NewChapter has both, hard to believe they’d do that if the vitamins conflict !

@way Vitamin D and K work together. Ditch the book and take D3&K! I have been taking a D3&K gelcap daily for more than two years now, after having read that the two supplements work together.

@rashida I have never heard that you shouldn’t take them together. I thought the two together helped get the calcium to your bones.
