This is so sad and frustrating to hear, you shouldn't be forced to choose to give up fighting and treatment just to receive pain relief. I have experienced pain that was bad enough, that I was faced with those thoughts you mentioned, of considering ending it all. It's a very frightening and frantic place to be and no one should have to live with that level of pain. As others have mentioned, it would be worth trying to find out more about the hospice option, if you could continue the treatment and fighting to live, while being switched to hospice care. It may very well be possible to continue on with the chemo and treatments, while also being classified under hospice, to receive better pain management options. Also, try to find out anything you can about finding a social worker who specializes in cancer. I had one through my local hospital, who was very helpful with me figuring out what options even existed. Maybe there is a second opinion you could seek as well, from a different doctor or cancer center?

@coco46 I did have a talk with my Palliative care provider she told me if I want the help I never for my level of pain management I no longer receive Chemo treatment and just let Hospice focus on my Comfortability. I don't want to stop my Chemo my Cancer is responding good to my Chemo it's just pain I can't live with. The pain keeps me from sitting in a chair walking is a struggle and when I need to get to my appointments or anywhere else I have to pack the backseat with pillows and lay down till I get there this is no way to live.My 4yr old said to me just broke my heart mama I pray God fix you so we can play together again oh my God. I'm sorry I have to take a break from this thank you though😭

I hate to ask this, but does your oncologist agree that your current chemo is working? If it really is working, one would hope that it will reduce the pain at some point.

I'm currently on my 7th type of chemo, but Doxil (the form of doxorubicin aka Red Devil most commonly used in the US) plus bevacizumab/Avastin was #6. After my first dose of Doxil-Bev, my CA125 dropped from 200 to 39. But I could tell that my cancer was still growing rapidly, because I can feel it right under the surface of my belly. What Doxil-Bev did do was to stop the accumulation of fluid in my belly (aka ascites). I think the reduced CA125 had to do with that. So markers can be misleading.

Whether the chemo is working or not, maybe a good thing to focus on would be preparing your child and making sure she has mementos of your love for her. Hopefully there are people there who can advise you on how to talk to her in an age-appropriate way.
