Shortness of breath and speaking problems with pulmonary fibrosis

Elderly husband on oxygen can hardly get a word out every few seconds, Very difficult to understand him, plus he’s very hard of hearing in spite of hearing aids.
Anybody have any solutions for having any kind of conversation in this situation??

Pencil and paper or erasable tablet? This is how I communicate with my cousin who is profoundly hard of hearing and does not read lips.

Might consider a speech or OT eval . Might be able to help with communication needs.
