Sensation of bug bites
I get the sensation of bugs biting my calves and feet. I have been seeing a neurosurgeon to determine what is causing this unusual sensation. It feels like I am getting bit by an insect (like a mosquito). I have been tested for neuropathy, but that is all good (no nerve damage). Has anyone else had this sensation?

Hello Chickytina,
Congratulations on your double lung transplant. I had a kidney transplant 5 years ago and I will often have the feeling of bugs crawling on my skin, with itching and occasional sense of getting bit. I believe mine is a side-effect of my anti-rejection drugs. Mine occurs mostly at night, and I have found that submerging myself in water (in bath tub or pool) helps curb the sensation and allows me to sleep. Sometimes I will add Epsom salt to the tub water. Not sure if this is helpful but thought I'd share.
I feel that all the time and sometimes it is a bug and my right foot is completely numb after my transplant 2 1/2 years ago but I can live with it, I have other pains that are way worse
