Self care

Posted by jodeej @jodeej, May 25, 2018

Hi all! I know this has been discussed before, but I'm just wondering what everyone does for self care? I am actually good at self care, but what I've been doing doesn't seem to be helping. (Or maybe it is, and I just don't realize it?) I exercise, get massages, get out some with friends and I have added seeing a therapist, but I am still feeling down. I think I may be mourning the loss of vacations and etc this year due to waiting for my husband's needed surgery. (Which makes me feel selfish.) Any ideas?
Thank you!
JoDee

Hi JoDee, Writing is the best thing I do for myself and I write every day. Some caregivers keep journals (either in a blank book or on the computer), but I write books to help others. Keeping a journal helps you see concerns you didn't know you had, identify problems, and work out solutions. It's also a way to ventilate your feelings.
