Seeing things out of the corner of my eye

Posted by Ryman @ryman, May 11, 2017

I don't know if this is the best group for this. Maybe mental Health or The Brain. Anyway, I see things out of the corner of my eyes. Usually, I think it is my cat but she is sleeping or in another room. It is getting worse and more often. I have an eye apt next week but I have mentioned it to him before. Wondering if this is a physical thing or something with the brain. I have been having a lot of dizziness and head and eye pain.

I have been seeing bugs and other things out of the corner of my eyes! It’s making me very nervous. I will call my doctor and make an appointment! It has slowly gotten worse! I suffer from mood disorder, depression, and anxiety! I’ve been more clumsy also !

@amyzing61 Hello and welcome to Connect. I can imagine seeing bugs out of the corner of your eye is alarming. I'm wondering if what you are actually seeing are floaters. Do you have any existing eye conditions? I agree that you should call your doctor for an evaluation. How long has this been happening?

@amyzing61 You might have floaters which would be diagnosed by eye specialist.

Hello @ryman. As I recall you had a lumbar puncture recently. Have you received the results of that test yet? Given the dizziness, head and eye pain it might be good to report this to your doctor. Perhaps some other members might be able to contribute to this discussion, but in the meantime, give your doc a call. I hope you get feeling better soon! Teresa

I agree that it's very appropriate to notify the Dr. They can determine by phone certain characteristics and distinguish between something that needs promptly attention and something that can wait until your scheduled appointment. For example, a floater that confirms to size, shade etc vs something involving the retina. Opthalmologists don't mind at all a call like that...bc it's important to be screened.
