Risk factors of an aortic aneurysm
Hello! I am a 62 year old male newly diagnosed with a 4.2 cm aortic aneurysm, right ventricle dilation, and mild AR. Is anybody going through similar diagnoses? Trying not to worry, doc started me on statin and metoprolol, see her in 4 months!

Hello @dglstaf , I'd like to invite @robinwe239, @glendamn and @23997929 who have all recently discussed an aortic aneurysm of 4.2cm. How are you currently feeling with your diagnosis and have you been put on any restrictions? What things concern you the most?
Mines at 5cm watch and wait
Arnold Schwarzenegger has had 3 heart surgerys
I'[m trying not to worry about it
Lets put in perspective , its a 8 inch incision in the chest , They sew in a graft and your done
They've done millions of these surgerys
Started Rosuvastatin and will start metoprolol soon. Feeling a bit overwhelmed!
I haven’t meet with with vascular surgeon yet? And I’m still waiting for a chest ultrasound and echocardiogram. My nerves have settled somewhat and I’m back to working out, although I wonder in the back of my mind if I’m lifting too much??? I have dove into my nutrition on the advise of my family dr. And I’m going to try my best to reduce or cut out meat . That’s where things are for me right now . One day at a time 🙂
echocardiogram ? waste of time , there always wrong , they probably use a broken cell phone , who knows
Hi dglstaf... my dr wanted to put me on
Metoprolo...I don't have high blood pressure or cholesterol. We are waiting though for the 6 month check up. I get a cardiac mri in April. If it has grown I will be encouraged to take the drug to slow the heart. I already have low blood pressure and am apprehensive in going on it. So we shall see. It seems to be what the dr prescribes. Hmmm.
Dr said it was genetics but never had a genetic test done. Read about this on another feed.
