I just got back my NASH FibroSure Plus test results. I have F2 Fibrosis (0.53). I am a non-drinker and I was diagnosed with low level endometrial cancer a year ago and had surgery (doc said this is irrelevant with regard to the fatty liver). Doc said the only thing to do is lose weight, go back on a statin because my cholesterol went way up after it was low. I am 167 pounds, 5'7". He and my nephrologist said I have to get down to 150. That's all; I asked for meds, he said no meds. Will do some imaging in February.

I’m so grateful to see your statement,I have F2 fibrosis too,my GI doctor also said lose 20 more lbs( lost 47 so far but I am very over weight and exercise) my dr is holding off on rezdiffra for now and just said diet and exercise and repeat fibroscan us sometime this year.I was worried because one of my liver enzymes ALT is elevated but it is trending down on second check and the dr said that finding is consistent with fatty liver.My upper right side often hurts especially after eating but I was told no gallstones from multiple US and just fatty liver,may I ask if you’re experiencing dull pain on your right side at times as well?
@truthfinder
I just finished eating a burger for lunch, and I'm sitting here reading your post and feeling the right side discomfort. I wouldn't call it pain, but more like a dull cramp, but it's there.
My GI doc ordered the FibroSure after he received the results of a full body CTscan to look for metastases --they found none, but there's always something -- and sure enough it showed the fatty liver. My blood tests had elevated ALT earlier in the year, but not on the most recent test. Recent test has very high Alpha 2-Macroglobulins, Qn. Doc didn't show much concern for that reading. I also have elevated Ferritin.
So, next step is the liver MRI with Elastography. I'll keep you posted!
I had right side dull ache until I had my gall bladder out. I never had high liver enzymes until after the gall bladder out and then they went high. The doctors told me that nothing would really change with no gall bladder but then I had high liver enzymes. As usual, they told me it was because I am old and fat. I have had 2 years now of liver tests that say fatty liver, but no - not fatty liver. Lose weight- but lost 50 pounds and nothing. Then I researched on my own - cut out sugar, intermittent fasted, took TUDCA - and liver enzynes went to normal. I also discovered that if I had taken the TUDCA earlier, I might still have my gall bladder. I posted a TUDCA post in another place and literally everyone who took TUDCA who responded had reduction for liver enzymes. I also took a smallish amount (125 capsule). It can give stomach pain.
I was recently diagnosed with end stage liver disease - stage 4 cirhossis and they put me on Rezdiffra. Losing weight, totally changed eating habits- only raw & steamed vegs and fresh fruits with checkin, turkey and fish. Trying to get rid of the inflammation and starting to feel better. Only on Rezdiffra for 4 weeks now. No side effects and won’t do any additional testing until 6 weeks. My ALT and ASO numbers have been elevated since 2019 but non one was concerned. And now this 😩😩
Will have to see how the next 5 weeks go.
Best wishes.

1 ReactionAs a noted in my previous posts, I had the NASH Fibrosure test and it came back with F2 Fibrosis and "High" Steatosis. I was sent to have an MRI (without contrast) with elastography last week (finally). Just got the results, and they seem to be significantly different? I'm not sure how to interpret these, and the doc hasn't been in touch. It says my Steatosis is "Mild", calculated mean liver stiffness is 2.2 kPa which is "Normal" and LIC is "Normal." The only thing I did since the NASH is lose a few more pounds, took Milkthistle every day, and went back on my very, very low dose Lipitor. I don't know if that is the reason or not. However, based on my BMI, the SofC recommendation is to lose yet another 14 pounds to be in the range of acceptable body fat.
@mayo99824
Besides cutting out sugar, did you also cut out "processed" foods. My GI gave me a big lecture on the dangers of processed foods.......unhealthy and reason why so many people are overweight.......also why 1 in 4 people have fatty liver.
@njp515
Statins cause dementia and high cholesterol is our bodies' way of dealing with inflammation.
@bevvon
What is the basis why you state that statins cause dementia? Evidence based studies?
