Research help for PCOS and perimenopause issues and signs and symptoms
Hello. I am looking for some help. My wife who is 45 is experiencing some extraordinary symptoms. Every Dr. we take her too seems to want to give her a glp1 and then say its just a time of life and a stage.
She is experiencing minor weight gain, hair growth on the chin, mood swings, restlessness, depression and hair loss and something going on with her tongue. One minute she is fine and the next she is not ok. We both work in high stress jobs in the medical field and are just tired of hearing it's just age and facts of life stuff. She was prescribed estrogen and testosterone meds as well. Her recheck labs showed that the levels had dropped. Not sure what that means? Formulation issues? Absorption in the GI system?
Also, to add on she has PCOS and has an ablation as well.
Any help, advice, comments or whatever would be helpful.

Sounds dismissive to me.
Some of the experiences you describe could be related to the process of menopause and the stress you are describing certainly doesn't help.
If it were me, I would search for a provider who is trained and experienced with menopause. Here is one resource: menopause.org

Also some excellent YouTube videos by Dr. Susan Hardwick-Smith.
There are many other resources now that women's symptoms are being treated seriously.

I have read that many women here, including myself, find some relief hearing others speak of their experiences and feel supported learning from those who share and feel supported in a community of women.
Not sure with all the medical terms, but, GLP-1 is the newest thing in the medical world of fighting cancer, and lowering recurrence. My jury is still out on this. Do some research, and it's seems that your both in the medical field that should help. You are a love for searching and seeking assistance! She has a great husband! My husband is very devoted too. This is very positive for both of you.
I am on herceptin, as my tumor was really weird and had HR2 2+, HR2 negative, and regular tumor cells that were cancerous, all in right breast, DCIS second time around, what a SHOCK!
