Repeat urinary tract infections: What can I do?
I am having repeated urinary tract infections with a variety of bacteria cultured. I have just learned I have fibromyalgia. I need help and don't know who to see. I was also exposed to a lot of mold (Cladosporium, Aspergillus) when I was teaching school. I have retired, but the UTIs have not.

see the note I sent earlier today to the birdntrouot lady. This Theracran has really worked. Not one UTI in over 5 months. Let me know if you have questions.
No. I do have a lot of scar tissue on my kidneys and the tubes to my bladder. I just found out the latest attempt to get rid of the latest UTI failed and now the doctor wants me to get a series of shots. This is a first for me.
You are too cute. Thanks I needed a chuckle.
Hugs,

Thanks! I take a 500 mg cranberry pill once a day now. My gynecological urologist told me to eat yogurt every day. Didn’t say what kind and I eat Greek yogurt. Went on trip without it and did ok. So far so good. I’ll check into the the THERACRAN.
I had a series of shots once; they stung like the devil, but it worked! Good luck.
I have gastric reflux and a hiatal hernia so I watch the acidity of food I ingest. Thanks anyway.
Oh! Well, I’m glad the UTI’s have slowed down. Gold star for that one!! 🙂 Good luck with the other. Have a great day!
I have been eating Greek yogurt a lot since before all of this started so I can’t say that this has helped. My primary care doctor gave me Levoflaxin since I was out of town and couldn’t do the shots. I had to stop taking. I significantly evelated my fibromyalgia pain and made even joint in my body hurt. I went to physical therapy this morning which helped on the parts she was able to work on…but my knees, shoulders, wrists, hands & fingers are killing me. I don’t know what they are going to do next.
I wanted you to know that about 24 yrs ago I had chronic kidney and uti infections. I just could get rid of them. Sulfur drugs antibiotics and multiple times with shots in each kidney on a daily basis for several days. I had heard cranberry and water obviously great for them, but also was a teenager so learning. I went to the pharmacy and bought several bottles of the strongest herbal capsule cranberry I could find. Mainly cause I just don’t like cranberry juice. I doubled the dosage on the bottle and kept with it for about 60 days then backed down to normal dosage and remained on it for about a yr. I had not had another one since. So 20 + yrs. I did recently have a kidney stone followed by a kidney infection and also told that my urinalysis indicated I might be a group strep b carrier. I am back on the cranberry double strength twice a day hoping this should clear things up. I just wanted to share my experience with cranberry. Thanks.
Ps I’m not a big herbal person but the cranberry sold me all the way.

I’ve been using a cranberry supplement daily for many years. A gynecological uroogist told me to eat yogurt everyday. I’ve done that and now I’m on 1 trimehtoprim (antibiotic-low dose) every day. Urologist does me fine.
Recurrent rare bacteria utis and small non obstructed kidney stone connections, anyone? Miserable and depressed most days.
Hello @daphne52 and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. It may be helpful to share a bit more, if you're comfortable, so that some connections to members may be made.
Can you share more about the rare bacteria UTIs you have and how long you've suffered from this?
Also, I am wondering if you have had any intervention/care for your non-obstructed kidney stones and how long you've been living with that as well.
