Repatha along with pravastatin 10 mg and ezetimibe

Posted by LH1961 @hanni6179, May 29, 2025

I’ve taken my first Repatha injection and due for 2nd injection on 6/1/2025. Cardiologist has me continuing ezetimibe and pravastatin through 2nd Repatha injection. Then at 4 weeks do a lipid panel to determine impact of Repatha.

Has anyone else had this prescription where all three meds overlap for 4 weeks?

TIA!

Update on my Repatha journey.
I completed 4th injection on 7.13.2025
Will get blood tested in August 2025 and hopefully the cholesterol is low enough I can stop the Pravastatin and Ezetimibe.
Have not had pain other than heartburn however that is related to my GERD.

Thanks all!

I'm on 80 mg of atorvastatin, plus 10 mg ezetimibe, plus Repatha. Just passed the 2 year mark on Repatha and not changing anything since the combo is working super well for me. Not to act as a shill for them, but Cost Plus Drugs is amazingly inexpensive for the statin and ezetimibe and less costly then using insurance (about $23 for both drugs for 90 days), so it's not a cost issue to maintain all if it's working.

@agb I have read that levels as below 50 you may see plaque regression

@manofheart that's my hope: regression. Prior to any of the meds, my cholesterol was 423 and LDL of 250, so I'm thrilled this is working for me.

@manofheart
I think you are correct about regression at those numbers. Even Drs. Esselstyn and Ornish saw regression in their patients on a 100% plant based extreme low fat diet. I tried the Esselstyn diet, very strict, for 5 months and was able to get my total cholesterol down from 226 to 168, and LDL down from 149 to 107. Unfortunately, with two stents in my LAD, another on a right branch, and another on a left branch, my cardiologist wanted my numbers lower. So, I went on Repatha in August and my blood test from a week ago was total cholesterol 108, LDL 40, and HDL up from 35 to 50 for the first time in my adult life. I have not had any side effects other than some muscle cramps in my legs when I do my 2,000 yard swim three times a week. I simple upped my potassium intake and that went away.
