Red light therapy
Hi, I’m 62 yr old female with multiple issues, Hasimotos, neuropathy and lung and heart issues. I joined a gym for the first time and they offer Beauty Angel red light therapy with my membership. I have been using it 12 minutes, 3 times a week like recommended. Has anyone tried and had luck with this.

@lkirnbauer Red light therapy at ~650nm (red) and ~850nm (near-infrared) aids back surgery recovery by boosting cellular energy, reducing inflammation and pain, increasing blood flow for nutrient delivery, promoting collagen for tissue repair, and stimulating nerve regeneration, helping to heal damaged tissues, minimize scarring, and restore function after surgery. These specific wavelengths penetrate deep to activate mitochondria, fueling the body's natural repair processes for faster, better healing.

2 Reactions@scampano3 I’m having Green “Violet” Laser Light Therapy and a Red Laser Light Therapy. I’m doing this at my Chiropractor’s office and it’s not a bed, they direct the laser up my sinuses for 3 minutes, both sides of the vagus nerve for 3 minutes, my tongue ( I have Covid Tongue) 3 minutes green violet and 1 minute red light. I’m feeling something happen when it’s up my sinuses like an energy or something moving during the sinus therapy. We’ll see what happens. I should also tell you that I lost my taste and smell with Covid over 3 years ago. I had other symptoms that are easing up thankfully, but not having these 2 senses is pretty awful!

1 Reaction@lkirnbauer This is interesting. Since it has been some months now, have you noticed improvement from the light therapy?

2 Reactions@meadowlynn I have stopped doing the Green and Red Violet Laser Therapy as it did improve my Oral Lichen Planus on my tongue, but only to a degree and it hasn’t brought back my taste or smell. I have moved on to trying Lymphatic Drainage Massages and am taking a new supplement called PEA-LUT 700 mg and PEA 70 mg Luteolin. Also wearing a 7 mg Nicotine Patch which is giving me more energy and less brain fog. I will continue trying new things instead of sitting idle.

2 Reactions@meadowlynn Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! I’m glad that you’re here. You asked a very good question in this discussion. On MCC, no one is medical professional so we do not diagnose or tell someone what drugs to use. MCC works by people sharing their own experiences and what worked for them or not.
Do you have an autoimmune disease that this group could help you with?

1 Reaction@lkirnbauer, I find your treatment very interesting! PEA made me sick so I had to stop that. May I ask what the lymphatic massage and nicotine patch is doing to improve your lichen planus?
Thanks!

1 Reaction@gypsyblue Sorry the PEA-LUT made you sick. I have no side effects from it at all. Lymphatic massage and Nicotine Patch are for balance and energy, not for OLP. I lost my taste and smell with Covid in December of 2022 and I had several other symptoms and one of them was bad balance and body tremors. The Patch helps with that and the lymphatic drainage is for my Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. The massages help with drainage in my head, neck, sinuses and abdomen.
@lkirnbauer that’s interesting! Does your insurance cover the lymphatic massage? I have Hashimoto as well with left sided thyroidectomy. I have been carrying extra water, but not in my neck. My weight can vary 4-7 lbs daily. I would love to try that!
No, insurance does not cover this, but it’s so worth it. I have done 2 abdominal lymphatic massages and I couldn’t believe the sounds coming from my stomach afterward. I guess I needed it!
