Recipes, Food Tips, Healthy Eating & More
Some of the members of the Gratitude Discussion Group were interested in having a place to share recipes and food ideas. I’m hoping that we can use this thread as a place to have that kind of discussion. I’d love to hear your ideas for quick meals, comfort food, healthy snacks, and more.
Personally, I’ve just been through a bad reaction to one of my medications that left me with a very queasy stomach. I would love to hear ideas – or recipes – that might be used when you need to get something on your stomach, but don’t want to overdo it.
Hopefully, this thread will even be a place where we can share recipes for special treats and yummy rewards. It doesn’t always have to be healthy!
I’d love to hear from members who have been part of other discussions AND from new members who have good ideas, recipes and food tips to share. I’m excited to see who might start us off here with an awesome food suggestion!

@Erinmfs The soup is really good ,patties also I have never eaten a salmon salad though
@jakedduck1 Good for you There is dk chocolate with orange or raspberry in it both are good your right the carmel sea salt ones are good I keep all at different times
@jakedduck1 I hate to burst your bubble, but those that are not labelled with a percentage are just very mildly dark. I can't remember what percentage they are but I checked that once and they are not dark enough to really qualify as healthy dark which has to be upwards of 70%. I do occasionally have one though, there are some really excellent varieties.
@jakedduck1 I alternate between the ,72%and a orange one but now can't eat any till I get my partial
@jakedduck1 Zowie! Thanks for the photo, Jake. I guess I won't be running to the store for that! I'll stick to my delicious 70% dark chocolate.
@lioness Salmon salad is the BEST! Ya' gotta try it!
@artist01 I,ll try it for lunch
Now the soup sounds interesting…have to look into that
Are you going to have your onion & sauerkraut sandwich too.
I fulfilled my end of the bargain now it’s time for you to fulfill yours.
If Ghirardelli chocolate bar is not labeled it can be between 40 to 60 % cocoa beans. 70% is the minimum to qualify for a healthy bar like you said. 40 to 60% is considered semi sweet which is probably why @jakedduck1 liked it. But he is getting there…just another 10% Leonard…you can do it.
And everyone….please don’t say “yuck” to other people’s food preferences….a simple “I tried it but didn’t like it” is good. And a round of applause to all those mom and dad cooks who have to cater to their kids taste buds and make meals to please the whole family. I would have to sit at the table and try to eat some things my mom made but could never finish. It didn’t happen too often but I didn’t get another choice and it didn’t make me like it any better. So you can’t force people to like certain foods and that’s what makes the world go round.
