Some of the members of the Gratitude Discussion Group were interested in having a place to share recipes and food ideas. I’m hoping that we can use this thread as a place to have that kind of discussion. I’d love to hear your ideas for quick meals, comfort food, healthy snacks, and more.

Personally, I’ve just been through a bad reaction to one of my medications that left me with a very queasy stomach. I would love to hear ideas – or recipes – that might be used when you need to get something on your stomach, but don’t want to overdo it.

Hopefully, this thread will even be a place where we can share recipes for special treats and yummy rewards. It doesn’t always have to be healthy!

I’d love to hear from members who have been part of other discussions AND from new members who have good ideas, recipes and food tips to share. I’m excited to see who might start us off here with an awesome food suggestion!

Good morning, all! I am not a paid spokesperson, nor an employee of Amazon or Michael Symons. Just someone who also suffers with inflammatory issues. I just watched a segment on Good Morning America, where Michael Symons [chef and author] is touting his new cookbook that may help with cooking while dealing with inflammatory concerns.

@gingerw Possibly interesting. What problems are you hoping it will help with? I am not sure that I have a problem that would be classified as inflammatory issues but I am interested in hearing more about it.

@contentandwell I live with fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis everyday, along with other autoimmune issues, so inflammation is no stranger to me. In this colder/winter weather, some days it is harder to move than others.

@gingerw It definitely sounds like it could benefit you then. I had arthritis in my knees, thus the TKRs but my hips actually look good, I just have very persistent bursitis which has been ongoing for about 8 years now.

@gingerw I agree with you as inflammation is a problem for me also . I haven't read your information but will to many things to do right now.

@contentandwell- I'm coming in here late, I know. JK- Inflammation is exactly what causes bursitis. It's an inflammation of the pads that protect joints. I've had it on and off since I was a kid in my left arm and shoulder area. It's painful.

Hello again. Tis the season for baking-This year I am baking my paper mache to speed up the process and giving it as gifts. Calorie free baking.
I am also baking yeasty goodies and there is absolutely nothing healthy about homemade bread, etc. The smiles of the recipients are very healthy for the giver!!! Thankful for the refrigerator rise technique!!!!

I can gag it down but it’s hardly a meal or a favorite.
I wonder if they have berries all ready to just dump in without added sugar or sodium.

It just takes time to get used to a different type of breakfast, but well worth it because you'll feel so much better! Try getting frozen berries of all kinds at the grocery store, but be sure to wash them well. Then, throw them into a baggies and put back into the freezer. A light amount of agave is good if you can't live without sugar. Raspberries are loaded with fiber. Enjoy!

@merpreb I wanna know if the paper mache makes the kitchen and space smell like holiday baking while it dries! Add some flavoring or something so it does double duty while drying? Hmm, @parus would that work?

@gingerw Could add some cinnamon to the flour paste. Yes, it does smell like I am baking something yummy.
