Real Help for Caregivers - Persevere

Posted by vostie @vostie, 1 day ago

I just finished participating in the Persevere Study as a caregiver for my hubby how has Lewy Body Dementia and found it empowering! I am just at the start of my caregiver experience and the guidance I received from my mentor was a God send. The manual was wonderful and I will refer to it as our needs progress but the fellowship I received from the mentor was worth everything to me. We were able to share both good times and bad with each other in a way I cannot do with my family and friends. It helped me change and improve my communication with my LBD inflicted loved one which was invaluable to me...and to him! And it aided me in caring for myself and preventing burnout...could not ask for more!!!
I would love to see mentorship like this for other caregivers. This study is for caregivers of people with Lewy Body Dementia or Parkinson's. If you want to participate there is a really easy survey at this link:

I just finished as well and my
mentor was incredible. I can’t recommend the program highly enough. I’ve done the program from Rush University and the Persevere study through the Lewy Body Dementia Association. They are both helpful but the programs offered through the LBDA are essential.
