Reoccuring symptoms: Is this part of long haul COVID?

Posted by olive007 @olive007, Mar 26 10:51am

loss of taste and smell, brain fog, aching bones, stomach issues and fatigue. Is this part of long haul COVID? I had pneumonia wasn't hospitalized, remained at home. Now I have problems with my heart, blood pressure is higher than normal. Brain fog, where I forget instantly. Not sure if that is age related? Or post COVID. I have trouble sleeping need medication. Before COVID I was pretty healthy and fit! Now I struggle! Is anyone else going through this? Sorry, forgot to mention mouth sores, dizzyness and constant dehydration. See brain fog. I find I have to write what ever I'm doing that day on everything so I don't forget! I'm taking prescription meds and vitamin c, vitamin B12 for dizzy spells , omega 3 cod liver oil, for bone aches and painkillers daily. Also, I sleep on a heat mat. I'm 56 feel like 80 or 90! Any other remedies please let me know?

Please, can you go into more detail about your mouth sores? Mouth sores, lips, tongue, throat. I've been looking to find anybody who has these symptoms.

@katey122, hi yes, I have problems with ulcers inside the mouth (canker
sores), also blisters on my tongue. I have a lesion at the back of my
throat, which I did not have before. This sometimes causes me discomfort
and pain.
I have read about something called Lymphdiaral
Which helps the body to fight infections. I will try this and keep you
posted.

@olive007 and @katey122, Hi! I have long Covid for almost three years now, mainly with fatigue and joint pain but I also have episodes in which canker sores appear on my lips, which make the mucosa more sensitive and it seems to me that in this condition there is also some eye discomfort and on the vaginal mucosa - without ulcers like I have in my mouth, just irritation. It's been recurring, you've recorded my symptoms and I've noticed that this has been almost monthly. So it seems to me that this is a part of the condition- at least in my case.

I get the ulcers on the insides of my lips. Tongue get bright red with little white bumps that really hurt. Also sore throat.
I also have noticed that it is cyclical. Usually about every 6 weeks.
My Dr. are desperate looking to find patients with these same type of symptoms so we can perhaps nail.it down to being Covid related.
Thank you!

Now what you are describing fits what I am going through to a tee. Even hospitalized and feed intravenously because the pain was excruciating. 3 weeks in hospital.
Please let me know if you find something that helps you.
Also, have you noticed any pattern to when this becomes worse?
Thank you!

There are studies relating the pattern of fatigue and pain - mainly - in PASC with fluctuations in sexual hormones, and it is possible that in mild cases, women around the age of 40 imagine they are going through menopause, as it tends to cause irregular flow. In my case it was exactly like that. And it has a clear relationship with the pre-menstrual period, as I never had relevant symptoms before menstruation before PASC.

Sounds like Long Covid. If you can see an Integrative Medicine doctor, do it. I have a lot of the same syptoms as you....not all...and I have long Covid. I have had Covid twice. Covid did a number on my immune system & joints.

Also, if there is a Covid Recovery Clinic near you and you can afford it go.

Have you seen a rheumatologist and had an ANA, DSANA, Sed Rate & C Reactive Protein bloodwork done? The reason I ask, mouthsores can be a symptom of Lupus....not always though.

Praying for you! Blessings....

I’m so sorry for your problems. Unfortunately, I am having the same problems. I had COVID in 2021. And since, my symptoms have intensified. It has affected every major organ. I too, was quite fit before COVID. Now, I am talking retirement. Has totally changed my quality of life.

Have any of you tried taking Lysine (an amino acid) for mouth sores? It has always helped me; the sores are gone in a few days. I have long covid but periodically got them before. Lysine is also used for herpes virus but it also helps with these canker sores. I take 500-1000 mg 2 times a day. Good luck. I know they hurt.
