2 yrs, 4 Drs, 4 diagnoses & unsuccessful surgery ending in this !
Supposedly mastectomy is the last option but MRSA & type 1 diabetes (50 plus yrs) makes it ultra risky but do I survive without surgery?
Rare case and no experts here. Considering Mayo

@married40years

Thank you for your response I have unknowingly been dealing with my leg wounds for 2 years. Just found out positive diagnosis 2 months ago. I have had 3 debridements with skin grafts and every time it failed before proper diagnosis. I am on immune supresent drugs and steroids. Suppose to go for debridement tomorrow

I read your post yesterday, and my heart aches...I decided not to respond since I saw that @aunkey had responded to you, so I was checking on you today.
I have to ask, if I may, have you gone to the Mayo Clinic? They will work with you in every way possible, and you will be treated by the best...they saved my life in 1985. I hope it is possible for you. 💞

Thank you for your concern and kind words. I am actually going in this morning to get another debridement and skin graft. They say my immune system is low enough that it may work

Let me know how you do...! I'll be hoping for the best, as will everyone who has reached out. Mayo Clinic has many satellite offices, and it still may be very well worthwhile to seek their advice since you have been dealing with this...almost since Moses was a baby!!💞

If I kept a journal it would probably look like yours but mine has only been going on for two years. I just heard of a new drug that's successfully treated pg patients and cured the wounds in twelve weeks

MRSA and 58 yrs type I diabetes complicated my healing. I’m on an insulin pump with Medicare. Another recent development- covid/ ICU/pneumonia trumped MRSA and now I’m clear! Bizarre. Yes, I’m fully vacxed from tge got go. Probably saved my life. I’m on #9 as it is. Have a great day!
