Anyone using Prednisone daily in small doses? Please let me know all about your experiences. I am using 10 mg daily and my pulmonologist wants me to quit it.

@jerdonus that’s what yes daily and yes my doctor wants me off too. They may switch me to hydrocortisone tablets. I do have adrenal insufficiency due to long term use of prednisone. I guess the prednisone causes this . Can’t just stop prednisone or it causes problems!!

Please keep me informed as to the results of the hydrocortisone tablets. I just had another relapse from reduction of prednisone and have gone back to 10mg daily and will start reduction again tomorrow. The relapse includes breathing difficulties and extreme fatigue and loss of endurance. What dosage are you on?
Please reply-thanks,

@jerdonus I’m on 10mg also. How long have you been on it?

I'm was on 10mg for approximately 90 days. I started because I had some left from a hospital stay. After a few days of trial I felt so good that I just kept it up but my pulmonologist wants me off. So I reduced to 7.5 for 30 days and down to 5mg for 5 days and had to go back to 10mg for 4 days because I was just dragging around and had to nebulize twice as much. Going to to try to reduce to 7.5 again for a while. But I expect after a few days my breathing and endurance will get worse.

@jerdonus I’ll see my endocrinologist soon to discuss the hydrocortisone tablets. I’ve been on them before and they do replace the prednisone but I won’t switch until doctor says so

Thanks very much-let me know how it goes!

@tjphillipp
I very thankful I found Nutranize Zone which is a pharmacist-designed supplement system formulated to replenish nutrients depleted by prednisone and help reduce its side effects. I’ve been using for 6 months and I believe it’s made a big difference for me.

It can also be purchased on Amazon.
