Did your surgeon discuss impact of prostate removal on orgasm?

I’m just wondering if any of your doctors discussed the impact of removing your prostate would have on your orgasms after the procedure?

@peterj116 Not sure I can be much help. My urologist is at Mayo. He had his tech show me how to do the injection and I was told to start at 5 units and experiment up to 40 units for the right length of time for the results. Less than 2 hrs. He ordered through a compounding pharmacy in my area. (Strive Pharmacy) and said he ordered medium strength. (?) He also gave me the little bit of the bottle left from the office visit. I am not sure how much in ml is the 5 units? The small bottle does not say on the side how much is in it. It does say 30ml of one drug - 10ml of another - 1ml of the last. Strive charged me $95 for the bottle. The 5 unit injection lasts me about 3 hours. I have not experimented with more or less. The day I picked up the medication I drew about 10 syringes from the Doctors bottle and 10 from the new bottle and put in the freezer. The drug says it has a shelf life in the refrigerator. Ten syringes has barely used any of the bottle. I would say I could get another 15-20 syringes out of this bottle. I would say not bad return on investment. At least 20 party nights for $95. It costs me $10 for a crown and soda water.

@tuckerp Thanks. Looks like I won't be trying that any time soon. $310 for 10ml.
But it still doesn't say how much an average dose it.

Thanks for sharing your info. Just turned 75 although everybody says I look like 60. Two years post RP plus "node removal" (3+4=7 Gleason; Adenocarcinoma; "nerve sparing" maybe, not confident of anything; CT Pet Scan indicated cancer was local to prostate with a slight outside exposure near the bladder connection) so I had wondered about the length issue as things didn't seem right... again, Dr never discussed it, pre or post). That include a measured, very brief commentary on my chances for a resurrected sex life. I don't feel much arousal sensation and have not experimented with any aids. Celibate as a monk and my wife is 15 yrs my junior. Just sad.
Reading about Trimex and seeing the word "INJECTIONS" scares the hell out of me. Never been a needle person.
I don't even know where to start. Thanks. rlm

@madpuppy74 I'm no fan of needles, either.
Have a look at https://injectneedlefree.com or similar places.
I think it's called Comfort-in

"A needle-free injection occurs when the injectable medicine (eg. insulin, hormones, local anaesthesia and more) is pushed into the body through the skin, using a combination of pressure, high velocity and a syringe/nozzle that has been specially designed for this purpose. “The liquid becomes the needle”.

Sounds like it kinda water-blasts it right through the skin.

Might be worth looking into.
Trimix gets rave reviews 'round here.

@madpuppy74 you guys are making too big a deal of it. I am squeamish about sticking myself but once you have done it a couple times and your partner is waiting, piece of cake. About 10-15 min your ready to go. Its not ideal. Medication needs to be refrigerated, difficult to travel, nothing spontaneous, expensive, erections can last to long. but it allows you the male pleasure to go inside. how sweet it is...

Very much used by the military to inoculate new recruits.
