Did your surgeon discuss impact of prostate removal on orgasm?

I’m just wondering if any of your doctors discussed the impact of removing your prostate would have on your orgasms after the procedure?

@peterj116 I had tumors in prostate and adjacent iliac nodes. Hormone therapy has reduced my genitalia nearly to pre-puberty size and all but eliminated libido. If I'm able to discontinue hormone therapy in another 6 months (18 total), maybe by this time next year I'll be waking up a bit. I use a vacuum device daily after showers just to stretch tissue, because the erection lasts perhaps two minutes. I haven't found a working injection: I tried Trimix nearly 10 times with only one successful 45 min. erection. The last time I tried, I had an aching erection for five hours. Done.

Two things matter with Trimix. The site wher you inject has to be very accurate. Easier if you use the 10 oclock position and the dosage, which requires experimentation. If you can get a 5 hour erection then the Trimix should work all the time provide you inject into the correct spot and reduce the dosage, so that it is a shorter period. How many uniuts did you use for the 5 hour job ?

@robertcukor I‘m not as concerned as much about the length as the pain. It’s been months ago , but I recall using 10-20 units. If I‘m remembering correctly, I had a painful 3 hr. erection at 15 units, so reduced to 10 for one more try but the experience was even longer and still painful. I took 4 Sudafed as someone suggested to reduce the effect but simply had to wait. Was too embarrassed to go to the ED but decided my experimenting was done. My interest is so rare and fleeting and my wife undemanding that continuing to pursue avenues to intimacy seemed unnecessary. If I‘m able to take an Orgovyx holiday in six more months, maybe we can try again in a year from now. All is not lost.

Yes, you are correct. Speaking from both personal experience as well as a medical practitioner. Unfortunately the loss of length does occur as wel as the need for treatment of erectile dysfunction

Thank you. And a question, if I may...
Out of curiosity, prostate cancer is, in a way, a sword hanging over the head of all men. But, does the prostate cancer start, in the majority of cases, in the cells which produce the semantic fluid? As opposed to the cells that make up the walls of the enclosure or sack?

Understand reluctunce to go to ED. Sudafed is good. Try 6 units and build up if it is not sufficient, one unit at a time. the pain is less with a lower dose and eventually only lasts a few seconds

Yes it starts in the outer glandular cels of the prostate that produce prostatic fluid, which make up about 20 per cent of of semen, not the capsule

So, what you're saying is that if all men who reach the point in their lives where they no longer need or desire to procreate could opt to have a procedure done which removes those outer cells we could pretty much do away with prostate cancer?

REPLY

No, I am noyt saying that. Radical prostatectomy, which is what you would need is not without risk. Incontinence of urine and impotence being the minor ones.

trimix : there are different mixes of trimix, talk to your doctor about it. try it work for me. but still no orgasm,
damn sure do miss them.

Note that there are new prostatectomy procedures that protect length, not that it helps us now!

In re: to ED. i found that TriMix appears to be my wonder drug. I am still working on mastering the technique and dosage. Getting dosage is critical unless you want the dreaded 4 hour erection. All i need is a .5 mg injection and I am hard as a teenager for an hour or so. Sticking a needle in your penis is still not fun, but I am hoping that it gets to be like an insulin shot after a while. The benefit is worth the pain!

Orgasms are weird, I still get an oddly similar muscle spasm, but not the same. And i stay hard as long as the Trimix lasts, which offers some benefits! If they could only put that in pill form......

Mine did… he explained from a high level (no fluid, still climax, but different)… that pretty much describes it.

@jeb0505 same, the "dry" orgasms are intense
