Does eating less red meat help reduce risk prostate cancer recurrence?
Hi !
My husband had a successful radical prostatectomy . I think it would benefit him (as in prevent a recurrence or future cancer of another type) to drastically reduce his red meat consumption or even better yet, STOP it but he feels otherwise. I am curious if anyone can refer me to documentation or medical journal article to support my theory.
Thank you!

The Sneaky With Love Cookbook! That is awfully tempting. When it gets published you will get your share of royalties.
Maybe I should hold back but can I get my royalty share in steak.
That does sound like an excellent salad!
The following is my wife’s Caesar salad dressing. People really love it even those that don’t like anchovies
Cesar salad dressing
One can anchovies
Four cloves garlic
Mash together
Three-quarter cup olive oil
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar (When I make it, I use about a quarter cup of red wine vinegar)
Teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
teaspoon Dijon mustard
Most of half a lemon
It’s funny you should ask whether I use anchovy paste or anchovies from a can or bottle.
When I don’t feel like making the above recipe, I will use just Olive oil and red wine vinegar,or Newman own Caesar salad dressing which is really pretty darn good.
I used to mix it with anchovy paste. Then I went to a restaurant and had a Caesar salad where it had little pieces of anchovies in it, and they were just great. I immediately stopped using the anchovy paste and I use half a can of anchovies cut into bits size pieces, which I then mix with the salad dressing Before putting it in the salad.
I even mix about a quarter can of cut pieces of anchovies with my wife’s salad dressing.
So there’s a few different ways I use anchovies and salad dressing.
Yes sir!
But only if you share it with my husband LOL
Thank you!
Thank you, Jeff! It sounds delicious. I just added it to my CopyMeThat recipe collection and will try it as soon as I get to a store that carries anchovies (none in the small town near the cabin)!

LOL, well there is that way of looking at it...
Nothing you add OR subtract completely from your diet is going to guarantee cure, remission or relapse. A well balanced diet with all things in moderation is easy to follow and healthful as well.
You shouldn’t be pounding down red meat every day anyway; but once or twice per week is not going to tip the scales either way in my opinion.
Eat lean red meat - NOT charred on the grill since this one factor has been shown to be carcinogenic - and stay away from highly processed meats loaded with nitrates.
Meat CAN be good for us if eaten correctly. Best,
Phil
