Propranolol Withdrawal Experience?
I have been on Propranolol since June 2026 and because it does not work for me my doctor is taking me off of it. She instructed me to reduce from two 10mg daily to one pill daily for seven days and then 1/2 pill daily for another seven days and then stop completely. I am on my second seven days and I have had what I think are withdrawal symptoms like a headache but not a migraine over my eyes and around my sinuses by my nose, my neck hurts like a headache but I don’t get neck headaches, dizziness and the back of my head tingles sometimes. This has been going on for two days. I have not mentioned this to my doctor yet but wonder if any of you have had this experience and is associated with withdrawal from the drug? Thank you for your comments.

Hi, @alicia49. I'm sorry to hear you are having to endure tingles, pain and dizziness as you taper off of propanol.
Here is some Mayo Clinic information on propanol that you may find useful:
- Propranolol (oral route) https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/propranolol-oral-route/description/drg-20071164
As this medication is typically used for lowering blood pressure, slowing heart rate, and managing physical symptoms of anxiety or tremors, I am curious for what condition you were taking it?
Thank you for your response and information. My neurologist prescribed it as a drug to abort migraine headaches.
