I had one injection of Prolia. I am getting side effects from it. How do I flush the Prolia out of my system?
Thanks.

Hi! Im 78. My dentist was the kind man who diagnosed my problems coming
from Prolia. Jaw pain, swelling, unable to swallow, coughing in water and
in horrible pain after Prolia. Eyes, ears hurt! Headaches. Tried go get
me help ss was beyond his training. Osteonecrosis. Sent me to my NP where
recd Prolia. She agreed. Then she got angry and wouldnt help me. Other
dr too. In same practice. Mistreatment! Said if I needed help they wd
treat me but not for symptoms for which they told me to go to my dentist!
The NP didnt prepare me for Prolia and was horrible towards me even
threatened to put me in mental institution because of side effects! The
effects are all listed by Amgen who makes Prolia!
I wd never in conscience give it to anyone! Please take care! Thanks for
caring!

@grammy9 i am not taking anything except: Gabapentin and Tylenol. I also pleaded to get 2% viscous solutikn of lidocaine to use in my mouth. I did nit use it as mouthwash but. Put on cotton swabs n rubbed in teeth n gums. Helped me! I was able to eventually eat soft foods. My teeth are still hurting but better. Never had the problems before Prolia! There is a connection. Read about it and tell your dentist. It can worsen. Look up osteonecrosis of the jaw. I was seen by a ortho jaw specialist and he said I did not have TMJ. Good luck. Look up severe side effects from denosumab the drug in Prolia. It is now in other drugs by Amgen. The studies are incredible and u will be educated! I do not think it should be on the market. I have taken nothing to replace it. It has affected all my bones. U can always contact me. I wish you well! Even Amgen does not think it may be best not to replace it with anything. We do not have the truths we need until too late. Have u had your Vit D checked and your calcium. So many things are involved! Honesty too late for me now.

@jimiwho
This scares me so much!!! My endo told me a runny nose is what most of his patients have as a symptom. He did tell me to read a pamflet he gave me on Prolia but like them all...drugs are scary.
I do have a sore tongue. What is your coughing in water? And you couldn't swallow?! Hugs to you!!! Thank you for writing me!!!

Yes I have had my vitamin D and Calcium checked and they are good.
I have read all the horrible side effects. It's awful and then I hear people that have no issues. I do have a dry tongue right now but...only issue right now.

@grammy9 the bestvthing u can do us educate you! The pkg the Prolia comes in has the serious warning a drug can have—BLACK BOX WARNING which used to be for alcohol n tobacco. I did use lidocaine patches zi found OTC Salonpas and still use for bone pain. That is how I foubd lidocaine but needed a prescription i couldnt get from NP even though my pharmacist kept trying! Tramadol is what tvey gave me in pain mgmt until I started having problems. I can max it but dont take it. Steroids but I now react to them! I live with pain constantly! Other side effects alsi. Read what the drug manufacturer for Prolia lists! It will be good help! It is a dangerous drug! It can be fatal to some people. Please do your homework. Im here for you. I have given up except for being able to help. My life is not good. Take care!

I had pain after initial injection. When I had second i hurt si much worse I went to get help. The NP did NOT believe me!! Shortly thereafter the Amgen company posted that not all patients but some who had subsequent injections did have increased pain. It is worrisome to me that after all tge years on the market they are still having injection reactions. There are also clinics in Florida who are now reporting osteonecrosis in elderly patients which they had not previously understood. The drug is used for bone cancer as well as osteoporosis. Some reactions led to death. It is scarey. It has affected the small bones of my ears and otologist told me i wd probably need brain surgery. I wish pain were controlled. I had 16 injections in my back slong my spine as fast as they cd give it to me to help with pain. My muscles were hard from pain but I didnt even cry out until last two shots. It shows how I have learned to have to tolerate some pain. But I no longer get those injections as they do not work well. I mention this because I think in some cases people are having reactions slso cumulatively snd it is not explained. It is too dangerous! It is the denosumab in the Prolia! It is in other drugs besides Prolia! Sorry I am saying so much. I am not like all but I was not expecting it either! It is not worth the danger when there are other drugs for use! Good luck! I sincerely mean that!
