Prolia

I had one injection of Prolia. I am getting side effects from it. How do I flush the Prolia out of my system?
Thanks.

extreme fatigue, increased sinus problems, constant congestion and watery eyes, itchy, dry mouth and lips anxiety much worse. My dr said not to take another shot but to increase Vit D and calcium and see her in 6 mos.

2 days after my injection my jaws and teeth were killing me. Intense pain for about 10 minutes. It went away and hasn't come back. Joints hurt...dizzy one time. I just feel different. Hopefully gets better!!!

I did Evenity for 12 months and had excellent results. Only issues I had with it was tired and sore arms for a couple days. I would do again if I could. My doctor wanted me to do Prolia next for 3 years. I got my first injection last week. Injection was not bad but I got dizzy when I got home and then the next day for about 10 minutes my gums and teeth hurt. It was crazy. Its been 3 days now and haven't had anything else but I am so scared of jaw issues!!!

@grammy9 I also did Evenity for 12 months. Had my first Prolia shot 3 weeks ago. Like you, I felt a bit whoozy right after the shot. I went home and laid down to meditate for 15 min. and was back to normal. I am having some muscle aches and pains on and off now..

I think my jaw and teeth hurting was what really scared me. I hope the other side effects get better too...this is so concerning.
Do you know what you are doing next or how long you will be on Prolia?

@grammy9 Well, I am considering getting a CTX and P1NP before the next shot due in Oct. I will have to self pay. I asked Dr. about the tests before starting Prolia, but she said they do it later ( I forget, maybe at 2yrs?), and that I would not have an accurate base line because I was on Evenity. In any case, I may order it anyway because I want to be sure this is actually working and I need something to go on. We all need some sense of control over selves. As far a further treatment.......depends! I went into this with the option of bailing out by less than 2 yrs. of treatments if I have problems. Dr. knows this. She said they usually aim for 2/1/2 yrs,. I will have to see how it goes. If I bail, will likely consider Reclast to relay off. I'm old, so who knows.

What are those tests? Blood tests? My doctor suggests reclast next for me too. I hear it can be awful too and cause esophagus cancer. My Dad had that so scary.
How old are you? I am 63.

@grammy9 CTX is a blood test that measures osteoclast cell activities ( how fast bone is breaking down.) It gives you a score. P1NP is a blood test that measures cellular level of osteoblast activity (how fast cells are building bone. ). Prolia is supposed to repress bone breakdown, and enhance bone building. Testing will need repeating over time to see if the drug is working. At least I would feel that I'm taking some control by seeing the results or lack of results from the process. I am 79, so I guess I could be on Prolia for rest of life if necessary. No problem sticking with it if it works without too much reaction. Personally, I feel age does make a difference here (for me anyhow).

Thank you. I will see if my doctor runs these. I do get blood drawn occasionally but didn't think called that. I will ask. Thank you!
Agree age is huge. I don't want to be on the rest of my life at my age.
