Problems after chlamydia treatment

Posted by sparky1080 @sparky1080, Jul 24, 2021

I was infected with chlamydia at the end of January this year, and was tested mid-March and finished treatment early April (10 days of doxycycline).

I didn’t really have any symptoms besides some thicker discharge which went away, so I wasn’t really aware that I was infected.

Ever since being treated I’m experiencing weird symptoms, yet my tests are always negative.

I had Weird discharge (thick cervical mucus) and blood on may 7 (after finishing antibiotics at the beginning of April), which was the same day I tested again to ensure the infection was gone, test was negative.

I’ve been experiencing the following symptoms:

1. Lower abdominal pain by uterus /bladder, feels inflamed, sometimes feels like stabbing, urethra pain, also had some lower back pain on the left

2. Pain and itch inside on the left

3. Pain in muscle around pubic bone/groin - hurts when I exercise, sometimes when walking

4. Lack of vaginal discharge, some improvement with gynoflor (at one point it was very dry, small chunks)

I keep getting pelvic exams and ultrasounds and the doctor keep saying everything is fine. I was prescribed gynoflor and fluomizin as she thought maybe it was irritation from yeast after the antibiotics.

I went to another doctor and he did an ultrasound and found fluid in my cul de sac behind Uterus, either from the infection or a ruptured cyst and that it could be causing the pain. He also said my body should absorb it . But this doesn’t explain all of the symptoms.

My Period has been shorter lately (may and June) only 3 days long, usually 4/5.

I’m really worried and getting extremely anxious and crying every day over this. I just want it to go away. If anyone has any advice or has had something similar happen it would be great to hear from you.

Im not having any difference in ny urine. Just the vaginal burning. It seems like each week it seems a little better but it’s just frustrating because I’ve been dealing with this since end of November. If ur urine is cloudy it could maybe be a UTI or yeast like u said. Was this also all after u got treated from Chlamydia?

Im in the same boat. I contracted chlamydia at the end of November and my symptoms pretty much just haven’t gone away although my tests are clean. Anyways today and yesterday weren’t as bad maybe it’s clearing up. Have you been to a gynecologist? My appointment is in March.

Well the stinging for sure isn’t as bad as when i had chlamydia, it still a lingering burn throughout the day. Some days are definitely better than others. In my case after the chlamydia. The antibiotics gave me BV. I went back to the clinic and then told me that those antibiotics gave me a yeast infection. So i went back and they said i had a lingering yeast infection. Went back and told me i was cleared from everything but i still felt burning so i started taking boric acid for 2 weeks. Pain was still present so then i went to an actual gynecologist and she gave me antibiotics again for BV even though i didn’t have that but took them anyways. It’s been a never ending cycle. I have an appointment with another gynecologist next week so get another opinion

Relatable. The last time they gave my antibiotics for Pid i stopped taking it because it made it worse. In the meantime waiting for my gyno appt i been taking cranberry pills to cleanse my urinary tract. I still have mild burning at certain parts of the day also some back pain that can run to my buttocks but other than that i see improvement. I think maybe you should try an actual cranberry cleanse not just regular cranberry pills, very inexpensive! Could you share your email with me, i think it’d help if we supported eachother through this.
