Probiotics?

Do probiotics seem to be helping anyone? Light nausea seems to be my worst symptom. Thank you.

Thanks for your reply and input. No recent antibiotics, but good to know. Unfortunately, yogurt and I do not agree. Wish it did.

We're all searching for what works - with dairy allergy (kicked into high overdrive by COVID) I can't do yogurt. If it works for others, as it once did for me, great!

As to probiotics: I tried a batch - some are of no effect and if I stopped there, I'd say probiotics don't work. Fortunately a dietician/nutritionist recommended Visbiome after my heart surgery - it does what it's supposed to and without a healthy gut, the immune system is compromised.

Same with prebiotics. Some are worse than nothing at all. Like you, I experience nausea with no appreciable benefit. A restaurant I go to sometimes serves a dab of kim chi with a bowl. I wolf it down. Love it.

Others rave about the fermented drinks, kinbucha, I can't get the stuff down and fear that I'd puke if I did.

Same with supplement prebiotics. I've tried a few that don't work, and found one that does - for me: Laird Greens.

There has to be something out there that will work for you- and when you find it, your gut will be healthier. For those of us pushing the COVID rock uphill, gut health and its vital immune functions are important.

What we can do here for each other is narrow the search, point the way where our steps might ease another's journey.

Keep trying. Don't give up.

Took probiotics with good results long before COVID. Post-antibiotics, here comes ten-day course of Visbiome as recommended by a Providence dietician-nutritionist. By far the best, most effective probiotic I've ever used

Post-COVID, digestive issues never seemed to settle down - probiotocs helped, but the good bacteria never seemed to take hold. Tried fermented foods, etc. with very little effect.

Recently tried Laird Superfood Prebiotic Daily Greens for general nutrition benefits (OK... these days prebiotic is the buzzword) and felt results first day; by third day things were back to normal. Have stayed that way since. Normal poops with no unaccounted extremes either way with this green mix as part of my regular diet. Other green powders I'd tried seemed like they didn't hurt but didn't help much. (in fairness, I still haven't tried AG1, but will stick with Laird's.)

Now, two weeks in, I seem to get more nutrition out of the food I eat - diet hasn't changed much. but I seem to be deriving more benefit from each good meal. The results are cumulative.

My sense is that COVID must raise absolute hell with every tissue it touches - gut lining included. This combination - a good probiotic as needed plus Laird greens to kick it along and help it work on a daily basis - helps.

Had been taking their Funcional Mushrooms with my morning coffee for a while as recommended by Shawn O'Brian on his blog (truth the media won't touch) and have experienced marked increases in mental clarity since - not a full remission from LC brain fog, but definite improvement and welcome relief.

Both products highly recommended for LC symptoms that they address.

Unfortunately it didn't agree with me at all. Disappointing.
