Post Menopausal vaginal bleeding causes?
I am a 71 yr. Old women who is now having a heavy prolonged period again, approximately 20 yrs. After menopause. I also have pelvic pain like menstrual cramps! I am now waiting on a GYN appointment after the Urologist confirmed it is not my bladder causing the bleeding. UTI symptoms originally started this process, and has progressed to excessive bleeding and clots with the pelvic pain on the right side continuing. I realize this is not a good thing, but am reading only 10 % turns out to be cancerous. Hoping I can hear some encouragement of what else it might be thatās not cancer from anyone that has experienced this. I did have a reprieve yesterday as the bleeding stopped but today it has resumed again! Thanks for any help in understanding what might be happening with my body. Waiting of course is the worst part, and I canāt get into my GYN for 2 more weeks. Thanks again and God Bless!

2 ReactionsI had a radical hysterectomy on September 24th of last year. They got it all, which included a couple of lymph nodes. They checked 4 nodes, 2 had cells and the other two did not. I opted for bloodwork to check for circulating tumor cells and CT scans as a follow up along with a huge change in my diet to combat the root cause of the cancer. My first blood test came back with 0.00 Circulating tumor cells in my system, so I was thrilled with that. I just had my 3 month recheck with my oncologist yesterday and after the exam she said āCongratulations you are cancer free!ā Music to my ears even though I had seen the results and knew it, it was good to hear it from her. 😊 They did more bloodwork yesterday which I wonāt get the result of for about 3 weeks. Then Iāll have another CT in 6 months. I think after a year they move out the intervals of testing. I am grateful that she is following me with testing so we can know where I stand. I pray soon you will be looking in the rear view mirror and talking about your experience as a thing in the past too. It is scary I know, but know you have sisters on this site that will pray for you and listen with a clear understanding of what you are going through. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

2 ReactionsMedical degrees should be partially funded by the US government as to get a degree has gotten ridiculously expensive and is probably a big turn off to a lot of people who would otherwise pursue a medical degree. I also feel that kids in middle school and high school need to be exposed to the different jobs available in the medical field to help them positively dream towards a worthy future.

3 ReactionsI am new here. I'm 55 and haven't had a period since 3 years ago. Suddenly 3 months ago I was diagnosed with Parathyroidism. I feel ok and they found one of the para's was swollen and needs to come out. A week or so later I was feeling cramps and had dark bleeding. I knew it wasn't normal so I contacted my Gynecologist. I had a pap test again, after I had one this past June. It showed no bacteria or other issue it tests for. So now I am heading to an ultrasound appt on Wed. I am a bit worried. š
To add to that. On September 7th I had an Afib issue, and I didn't know I had it. ??? Now I'm on Eliquis. So many things at one time. I am looking forward to that scan, and getting answers. I am feeling super overwhelmed. š
@momof2cubs Sorry to hear this is happening to you. I've read in previous replies here That some women experience break through bleeding after cortisone shots.
Hope you issue is easy resolved.

2 Reactions@rashida I wouldn't let it go. If you have endometrial thickening, you should see a doctor, if not gyn, then oncologist. post menopausal bleeding is something that shouldn't be ignored, in my opinion

3 Reactions@1995victoria my physician did succeed I. Referring me to another gynecologist who did a hysteroscopy under anaesthesia in October 2024. He did a D&C procedure too, and so far I have had no spotting a year later.
