How much caregiver support is needed after a kidney transplant?

This is what i also need to know. I have been a heart tramsplant caregiver for 10 weeks now. So it should be 2-4 weeks when my wife wan go home. She is doing wonderfully. I am looking at nto being a kidney donor for a close friend. How much care will i need after the surgery. Since i am just the donor, i would suspect the same as any major surgery. Is this correct?

I was told there is a 10-pound weight limit on lifting (longer than the Transplant Recipient), which surprised me. There are 8 weeks of weight restrictions and careful activities after you make the donation, but they go over this with you.

I was just on a Mayo Zoom call, and they said testing is as in-depth for donating as if you are receiving. You will have plenty of time to watch all the forced videos and education that will answer these and every question you have.
