Post Covid chest tightness, pressure in throat, dizziness, SOB
My 80 year old mother had COVID 4 weeks ago. She had horrible headaches for 3 days. Did not require hospitalization but symptoms lasted for 7-10 days. Now, 3 weeks later she is having this pressure in her throat, chronic fatigue (she is extremely active for her age, walks a few miles everyday prior to COVID), dizziness, shortness of breath. She was admitted to the hospital to look at her heart and all the tests show her heart is strong, valves are clear, essentially no problems. She is wearing a heart monitor for 2 weeks though. A brain scan was done and that was completely fine. Any advise of what we should do moving forward? Her blood pressure was high before going into the hospital and is now very good with medications that were prescribed for her. No one can tell us why she is feeling like this and what she can do to get better.

Many people don't come back later and give updates. I eventually started feeling more like myself in mid-November of 2023. I was put on Prednisone for a week, I felt terrible and couldn't wait to get off of it. After getting off of Prednisone and taking Zyrtec and Pepcid daily (google it for LC), I have felt much more like myself. Paxlovid worked amazing for me when I got Covid again on 12/24/23. I think it is a useful tool for some.
I have COVID March of 2020 and for the following 1 1/2 years, had severe fatigue, high BP and low O2 on exertion, palpitations, shortness of breath and more. Fatigue got better by year two but when I over exert, all of the other symptoms come back. I have had to learn to plan only one activity a day and rest before I get too tired. I am now on the second week of antivirals with Celebrex and have a little more energy and less overall pain. I will be on the two meds for three months so hoping that the improvements will continue.
