Dealing with Post Concussion Symptoms One Year Later. Suggestions?
Hey everyone! I suffered an injury one year ago and I am still having concussion-like symptoms; migraines, slight vertigo, light sensitivity, eye pain, dizziness, lack of coordination, and severe fatigue. I have no clue what is going on.. it’s different than chronic fatigue or anything like that. Does anyone have a good suggestion or idea???
All my scans are clear too!

@lisalucier Not really. I did find help with my doctor- after reaching out to Mayo who sent me back to my local doctor, who prescribed a low dose tricyclic. which helped the headaches. I'm still struggling with fatigue.
Thanks for checking back.

2 ReactionsMaybe loss see a neurologist. That's the direction I was pointed to with my post cs. I went to rehab. It helped a lot. They were really patient and worked with what I needed

Never too late.
I had one or more TBI’s in Jan of 2024.
I am still struggling with headaches, confusion, pain.
Go see that doctor.

1 Reactionmy son has been dealing with PCS for a little over two years, we are just trying to have some clarity of what is typical and things we can watch for as we navigate this. I has been a rollercoaster and just trying to navigate in an area with little research for his age group.

2 Reactions@swimman1 How is he doing? I don't have any insurance and neurologists don't respond when I message for information. 19 months with Post Concussion Syndrome here. I've found a lot of help reading descriptive posts. Like one lady had no insurance but had a retired DR at her church that was giving her suggestions - playing games on the internet. He said any game, because they all have a goal that you have to process out. So I do Words with Friends, Solitaire, Word Blitz, etc. Social anxiety is more of a problem now. It's the little setbacks that - whether a common slip or your braining having a small slip - feels like someone pulled the chair from out underneath you. I come down harder on myself. Recently, I had some people that knew I had a TBI intentionally give me the wrong information. They were joking, they said. They claim, they thought I was ok. I asked them - why would you give people false information when you know they were going to repeat it, if not to make them make a fool out of themselves in front of others? How is that a joke?
The headaches, eye pain/tired eyes, constant ringing is very draining. I feel like I haven't had a restful sleep in forever. My body feels on edge 100% of the time. I just can't relax. The loud noises are amplified and I sometimes I go into a small room for less distractions. Even the bathroom has become a peaceful place where I can shut out light contrasts, movement, noise, all the things in the house.
I hope you post replies on how your son is doing and what Neurologists have suggested. God bless.

2 ReactionsCar accident August 2024. Symptoms resolved I think. Medicated improperly and not managed properly.
@vv91 - so, if I understand you correctly, you feel that despite improper medication and management, your symptoms following your car accident have now resolved?
