Possible Septal Infarct - Shocked!!

Hello, All!
I recently visited ER in my hometown as a result of an accident. They ran a 12 lead EKG which showed a septal infarct, age undetermined. I have never had any typical heart attack symptoms, however, do have infrequent episodes of aFib. The ER doctor did not even mention this, and I only discovered it by reading the results online in my chart. I am concerned and somewhat freaked out. I’m hoping that this was a false reading, and will be following up with cardiology. Anyone in this group had false EKG results?

Same happened here. The EKG leads were misplaced. I went for preop testing and have never had cardiac history.
Thats probably why the ER didn’t mention anything to you. They can tell by reviewing the waveform if its actual or false reading. The trained eye is better than the machine.
Always good to follow up if you have concerns. But hopefully this has decreased some of your stress in the meantime.
