Portable Oxygen Machines

I'm currently using Inogen One G5 but don't feel all the comfortable with it. Does anyone use one that they really like? If so, please share.

If the POC doesn’t provide enough air, can you have your O2 supplier bring you tanks you can use? They come in a cart or you can have them in a bag you can put on your shoulder. When in a store, you can put it in the shopping cart.

@foxygen Thanks for your information. Here is a new need.... portable machines that filter out viruses and bacteria. If I wear a mask but my Inogen portable doesn't, is a mask any good? For those of us with reduced lung function, it is a problem. O2 or mask when I go anywhere???

@crystalena I am thinking that maybe the tanks don't present the same problem as they are not drawing air from the room while the concentrator does and therefore pulls in any virus in the air. it would be nice if concentrator sanitized the air also!

@vic83 You are correct . But even with a cannula and a mask you will get some outside air. I think something that sanitized would be wonderful . Everyone would want that . B.B. , Crystalena

@crystalena I would use an N95 mask with just the tube coming in and something around it to make it air tight!

I wear a mask and POC for exercise, altitude & sleep. If you wear a mask that fits well, is breathable and filters well, you can stay well protected. I buy my ultra masks from family-masks.com. They’ve kept me healthy while traveling.

@hicopd But the POC pulls in the air around you so if you are near someone sick (and even going into a room where a sick person was just recently because virus can remain in the air for a certain amount of time in a room not well ventilated) you risk picking up something. I caught COVID sitting next to someone in an outdoor restaurant who had no symptoms and had not yet tested positive. Days later they told me they had a positive home test (picks it up later) and I went to my doctor for PCR test (gold standard) and I tested positive with almost no symptom just a slight headache
