Pineapple and Tacrolimis?

Hi all,
Can kidney transplant patients taking Tacrolimis eat pineapple?
I know grapefruit, Seville oranges, and pomegranate are not good, but how about pineapple? Thanks!

I am almost 5 months post transplant so still learning all the side effects of tacrolimus, but am doing well. Back on the golf course but missing my pool aerobics which they say never!

Hi @maggieinfp 😊
I go in my swimming pool all the time. Were you told to avoid chlorinated swimming pools or aerobics or both?
I was told stay away from freshwater ponds, lakes, rivers and stay away from the ocean and stay away from hot tubs. But a trusted chlorinated pool was doable. (I shower off after my swim).
Maybe you were told to avoid the pool while you were healing from the surgery?

Key word is ‘my’. I live in a condo community so not a private pool. 2 nephrologists said never and one said we will discuss in a year ☹️

@maggieinfp 😊 I understand the doctors' concerns. Even chlorinated water does not kill all the germs of a highly populated condo pool. You are definitely safer sticking with fun on the golf course!
I am happy to hear you are doing well and enjoying life.
I am sure we will be chatting on Mayo Connect again very soon. 😊
