Phlegm in my throat and post nasal drip after Covid

Posted by danny2022 @danny2022, Dec 18, 2022

Ever since I had covid in January of 2022 I recovered from the virus but I was left with a constant phlegm in the back of my throat and post nasal drip that will not go away. The feeling of having mucus in the back of my throat actually gets worse when I try to get rid of it by coughing. I have been given steroid inhalers, albuterol, allergy medication, but none of these work. The mucus gets worse especially after I eat. I've never felt like this before and it all started after covid. Can anybody relate to what I am going through?

My doctor suggested saline sinus washes twice a day and Flonase spray one spray each nostril before bed. That solved the gunk in my throat for me after about a month of these treatments.

Okay, stranger than stranger. When I had COVID on 9/1/24 I had the thickest and purest white phlegm. I occasionally hack up some phlegm the same color. Has anyone had the same experience?

I too am suffering from phelgm for the past 41/2 years. Had several tests and tried different medicines. Now I have hoarseness most of the day! Neither my primary, ENT or gastrologist can give me an answer. Any suggestions?

Yes!! Virus in 2023, coughed up crud for 2 1/2 yrs. Got better for a couple months this year, thought it was over. Nope. Began again recently just not as bad as it originally was.

This is 100% me! I had Covid in a horrible way a bit over 4-years ago. I will say that the sticky mucus has improved exponentially yet slowly over time. Drinking water and eating certain foods will trigger it, but it subsides in an hour or less.

I have found if I do a lot of talking / laughing or have increased activity results in cough & mucous in my throat.

I also do these, it has helped. Plus when I have increased congestion I'll take behind-the -counter 12 hr pseudoephedrine.
