Periodically I wake up 2 or 3 am and cannot get back to sleep.
I have periodic times of trouble sleeping and then suddenly I’m sleeping all week. I’ve tried various drinks and meds to help when this is happening but it seems to happen without any reason. Example of last night. I finished worrying and working on playing taps for our Co-op that I’ve been worried for 2 weeks. I figured that I would have 7-8 hours of good sleep. Nope! 4 hours and I up at 2am trying to get back to sleep. Can’t.

Just got an e-mail from Minny Grown that right now, they can only process on-line orders through 1/1/2026 because of language added to the federal appropriations that includes a hemp-ban. Almost all hemp-derived THC products will become federally illegal including the Highbernate gummies. I don't know of any stores near me that carry this product, but I'll have to find one.

me too am up now at TWO AM...it has been two weeks since the surgery and my nerves are still jumpy and sleep has left me awake again ...I did fall asleep in a chair for twenty minutes today. WHEN CAN I GET BACK TO MY NORMAL FIVE AND A HALF HOURS????? ANYBODY??????? I want to try MELATONIN but am afraid after all of the heart meds to take day and night to MIX anything...WIERD....who monitors sleep patterns??????
I am going to FILL THE UNSLEEPY TIME WITH PRAYERS AND SOFT MUSIC....MAYBE MY REGULAR LIFE WILL COME BACK....uh oh ANOTHER CARDIOLOGIST APPOINTMENT AND ANOTHER ULTRSOUND??????? WHAT FOR?????
@margaretob Melatonin is safe under 3.1 mg, but I would not take it on consecutive nights. In fact I only use it maybe twice a week at most. It seems to work best for me if I only use it sparingly, about every third night. Also, you can try magnesium supplements, but run it past your GP first, or your cardiologist. You don't want to take more than you need, although healthy kidneys will handle modest overages of Mg. Magnesium helps both the heart and the body to get to sleep more easily.
THANKS WILL TRY....You are smarter than I am. Just read an article that life after surgery is like PTSD for awhile. I am impatient to get back to normal but the DOCTORS keep making more appointments for more "WORK"...I am becoming jaded in my trust for anything medical....I guess that is just what is...THANKS for your input...MargaretO
