Pericarditis/Chronic Pericarditis

Anyone else get their diagnosis this way? If I feel like I cannot get enough 'air' in and my pulse oximeter readings are 85-97%. I will advise doctor on Monday.

After 7 months of doctor appointments, ER visits and finally a 2nd opinion with a cardiologist. He said possibly chronic pericarditis. Treating me for it as Echo and Phillips heart monitor worn and TTR amyloidosis scan negative. Have had multiple CT's and X-rays.

He studied my file the day before my appointment. The key answer I gave to him that he said it's chronic pericarditis. Not being able to laydown or laydown to sleep due to the pressure in my heart and it is somewhat relieved when I sit up and sit up to sleep.

Treatment 650 mg of aspirin three times a day for 1 to 2 weeks, Colchicine 0.6 twice a day for 3 months and Pantaprazole 40mg a day for at least 1 month, preferrably 2 months. And to check in with him 3 days after my appt and then following Monday. Set a follow-up for 3 months.

I am not sure what else I should be doing. I've read avoiding caffeine?
