Pelvic pain and had hysterectomy

Posted by linzebug @linzebug, May 31, 2023

I started having pain in the center of my pelvic area about 2 days ago. My stomach is bloated and I get sharp pains in my bladder area. I do have excessive gas and need to pee often. When I lift my knees it does make the pain worse. Sometimes it feels heavy and period like cramps. I did have a hysterectomy about 7 years ago. I can't get into the doctor until June 22nd. Does anyone know what might be the issue might be. Just curious if I need to get in somewhere sooner.

Sorry to hear about your pain...
I don't know a lot about this topic, but maybe you should call your regular doctor and ask them what your next step should be. Or maybe go to one of those urgent care places?
Could it be your digestive tract?
I think maybe you should try to get advice from a doctor or nurse sooner...Does your health insurance company have a nurse-consultation phone line? Try them?

Waiting 3 weeks for a medical opinion seems like a long time to me...

Hope you feel better and get some answers! : )

@linzebug I’m in agreement with @annewoodmayo. Your symptoms are worrisome and if it were me I would not want to wait until June 22 to be seen and evaluated. Is the June 22 appointment with your primary care provider? If so, I think you should call and try to get in sooner. I know my primary care provider has a kind of on-call appointments that will fit me in when I have urgent symptoms as you do. It’s best to go a doctor who knows you but if you can’t get in then urgent care or even an emergency department visit at your local hospital could be considered. The type of pain you describe usually gets you in the door and evaluated pretty quickly in my experience.

Would you please come back here and let us know when you get in to see a doctor and when you get a diagnosis and treatment plan?

@linzebug

I had similar a couple of years back. The pain started in what would have been my left ovary. I had a complete hysterectomy on 1997. The pain spread to bladder area, across lower abdomen to under my right ribs. An MRI showed I had diverticulitis. I had had it before but in my left lower abdomen .. not entire abdomen. I am not a doctor …. this is just my experience. It could be other things. If the pain is unbearable go to an urgent care .. Emergency room .. whatever you have where you are.

I did get into the doctor today and they found blood in my urine and no infections. I am waiting to schedule an appointment with a urologist to figure out what's going on.

I wonder if you have developed adhesions from your previous hysterectomy

@linzebug Thank you for coming back here and letting me know what your doctor found. It’s puzzling that blood was found in your urine but no infection. Will your doctor’s office schedule the appointment with the urologist for you? I do hope you can get in to the see the urologist quickly.

How are you feeling today?
