Anyone who has taken Paxlovid have dealt with the awful side effects? My issues are diarrhea, horrible chemical taste in my dry mouth.

I took 2 pills and was sick, nausea, dry heaves, I have a similar reaction when I take any penicillin type medicine, but that reaction with other medicine doesn't happen for a few days I stopped it after 2 pills

Ony affect I had was bad taste but that subsided after finishing dosage. The drug kicked covid almost immediately for me. I do believe this med can and does save many lives or at the least kicks the virus in short order.

I agree, however I'm allergic to penicillin and I got worried over the the side effects of nausea and dry heaves, which was similar to when I've taken penicillin.

Still struggling with Long COVID after first COVID diagnosis July of 2020. Prescribed Paxlovid for second COVID diagnosis June 2022. Any side affects were minimal compared to Long COVID symptoms and worth approximately 3-4 weeks of feeling the best I had since my first infection.

I didn't get those, but i did get hives that are still happening a year and a half later. I just posted about it. I hope you're feeling better and that the side effects have stopped.

I had to D/C paxlovid after only 2 doses back in June 2022. Found out latrer from another Pharmacist that it can be better if tolerated with a fatty meal. Wish the first Pharmacist had told me that I might have been able to stay on it and woulndt have LC now. Live and Learn.

I also took Paxlovid for five days last year November after getting covid infection. I felt my covid symptoms disappear quickly after starting the med but unfortunately I relapsed after stopping the Paxlovid, it hadn't been approved yet for longer use. I don't remember any side effects from Paxlovid but I took two weeks to test negative and I was quite sick. I had read that some people relapsed like I did but others did really well even after only five days on it, I realize that meds work different for everyone, there's no one pill suits everyone. I do want to add that even though I relapsed after five days, it's a very effective drug and surely cancelled all the covid misery and knowing it's out there available for us, it takes a bit of the scare out of covid for those of us that need this reassurance. I also have long covid and it was starting to ease up a little after a year but I recently had the new covid booster and it's now almost two weeks, I noticed my sweating and palpitations are coming back, I feel very disappointed but truthfully, I didn't have the nerve to not take the vaccine, I hope it was the right choice.

I found brushing my tongue with toothpaste helped some as did letting Juicy Fruit gum dissolve in my mouth. I did not have them on hand but understand Werther's sugar free candies were also recommended for offsetting the gross metal taste from Paxlovid. Most importantly, the bad taste went a way a full day after taking the final dose.

The only side effect i remember from the Paxlovid was a metallic taste in my mouth. I would usually have some tea after taking it and the taste went away. It totally knocked out the Covid symptoms for me.

Forgot to add that this was my second bout with Covid. The first time, i was away from home and went to Urgent care. The PA said she was not giving me thr RX even though i qualified due to age. She said i was otherwise in good health. and was fully vaccinated. The medication was in short supply then and she wanted to « save « it for unvaccinated people. I am still furious about this. I developed long covid after my first diagnosis of covid.
