Posted by @ntnee, Aug 5, 2017

Has anyone used this drug long term for depression? If yes, what has your experience using it been like?

Hello @ntnee and welcome to Mayo Connect. I see that you just joined our online patient support group and we are happy to have you. I appreciate your question about the use of Paroxitine. This medication also goes by the names of Paxil, Pexeva, and Brisdelle. I am sure that many of our members have used this at one time or another. Some of our members who have discussed this drug specifically are @qsam61404 @carol94 @liz223. I hope that they will join in this discussion to let you know about their experiences.

Have you begun to use Paroxitine already? If so, how it is working for you?

I have used Paroxetine for many years. I have no side effects and it keeps me from having horrible nightmares.

Thank you for your reply. I also have been on paroxitine for several years. It seems Ike it’s not working as good as it use too. But I’m glad to learn its probably not harming me.

I've been on it for about 20 years. Some one told me it might have bad side effects if taken for to long. It also seems to be working less well for me.Ntnee

Hi, @ntnee and @liz223 – some time back, you talked about taking paroxitine for depression. @sdgymrat also mentioned this medication. Wanted to see how if you are still on it? If so, it is working for you?
