Pari Red Cup Experience

Posted by picartist @picartist, Sep 25, 2025

I have both the blue cup and the red cup from Pari. I just tested the red cup with a 3% saline to see what it is like and right away I noticed that it is not as harsh when nebulizing, compared to the blue cup. I am interested in anyone's experience with this. I understand the Red Cup has smaller modules that can get into the deeper part of the lungs and it is slower than the Blue Cup. Is that why it does not seem as harsh as the blue? Blue is supposed to be the rapid mist and you spend less time doing it. My Doc has no opinion the this and I don't think he was familiar with this at all.

I have used both the Pari red and the Pari blue. I've stuck with the red cuz as you say it's smaller particles. I'm hoping it penetrates farther and better, as my BE is in both lower lobes. I thought the red is actually a bit faster but not much. And I didn't notice a difference in harshness. I use 7% saline and I tolerate it fine after a few weeks at the beginning... I discovered that alternating sips of hot ginger tea with honey, and ice water, helped a lot with the initial coughing provoked by the saline nebulizing.

I have also used both. My experience is that Pari red treatments take a bit less time.

I thought it was just the opposite. The Blue is faster and red slower. That has been my experience too.

Perhaps because I only nebulize 7% saline that red works faster for me? Red cup treatments take about 10-12 minutes while with blue it's usually 15-18 minutes.

I don't notice much difference other than Blue Cup is harsher and seems to lose more Saline than the Red Cup. I used to use Blue in morning and Red in afternoon and found it made no difference that I could see.
