What was your experience with a pain pump?

Who on the platform has a Pain Pump? What side effects did you have, if any? How much did it reduce your pain? What was the recovery time for surgery?

Hi! I am on my second pump (morphine) It has given me my life back. By the time I needed the pump I was running out of options. There was no more surgery they could do, the shots don't work for me, so it was meds by mouth. I was quickly facing my limit and was asleep most of the time. After the pump, I could get out of bed and start my day. It takes 90% of my pain away. Every disc in my spine is compromised. My neck has been rebuilt, my knee, shoulder, and both hips are replaced. You need to do what your told and make the adjustment to this. I take 1 300th of oral painkillers. The surgery is same day and not difficult.

I am about where you were in your journey and thanks so much for the reply. My trail was last week with morphine, but I had a rough time trying to pee. Was that an issue for you at all and does it get better?

How long were you down from the surgery? It’s not that bad?

Thank you again for replying!

The surgery was minor after a week or,so I was fine. Sorry to hear about your problem with urine. Take heart all is not lost; a friend of mine was put on something else and was fine. This is a process for you and your doctor. Try something and if it doesn't work, you;ll t do this
t ry something else. Do you meditate? Turn om You tube and lay down and listen to the sounds (dont this while driving), also a book for meditation and healing. Can't find it now, but will send it when I find my book. Hang in there!

How are you? Found the book and can give you the name of it, if you want it.

Thanks for the response! I am trying a new medicine trial next week. Yes I meditate and just finished a great book that I would encourage all pain sufferers to read.

I hope your trial goes well. Actually, my trial was kijd of hairy; I had to be flat for 4 days and the CSF leaked fir four days, but it helped the pain go down. I had a lot of faith in my doctor who told me the truth and what would happen. That is better than having false expectations.

Let me know how it turns out. This is the part in the process that requires patience and endurance. The important thing is that they find the right meds. I did that part and for me it was easy for me because I was compatible with morphine. Good Luck!!
