Pain after microsurgical operation for avaricocele

Posted by vojtech @vojtech, Apr 23 12:02am

Hello, I have undergone a microsurgical operation for a varicocele on my left side and the healing seems to be going well so far, I am already walking normally. I am already 11 days after surgery. From the 6th day, when the pain in the wound calmed down a lot, I noticed that my left testicle is very sensitive. Pain shoots through me when touched. Not a big one, bearable, but sharp. Do you know if this is a normal state of healing or if something has gotten complicated? Thank you

Welcome, @vojtech. I'm tagging @ncinjury and @kamo123 who may have experiences to share regarding post-surgical pain.

It's been a few more days since you first posted. Has the pain subsided or gone away? If not, did you speak with your surgeon or have a follow-up appointment in the meantime? How are you doing?

Hello, the pain kept getting worse, so I went to the urologist, everything is fine after the operation, but it turned out that my epididymitis started to form. I am on antibiotics and some anti-inflammatory pills and the pain is slowly starting to go away.

Glad you got it checked out and that the solution is relatively straight-forward.
