Pacemaker recipients: Looking for support from others
I am coming on a year post op having a pacemaker placement for bradycardia. I would be interested in a support group with the same concerns. I think a support network would be so beneficial.

Guess I'm lucky, I have had my pacmeaker for 8 plus years, and to add to that this last January I'v been diagnosed with two types of lung cancer/. Plain old lung cancer in my right lung and mesothelioma in my left lung. Have been montored for the past year every three months. Well this month, couple weeks ago my left lung grew some and my left lung hsd more fluid in it. Also at this same time my kidney grew some more crreatin and so working on that. Then macular degeration (sp)has decided to show up. and the in this last four months I have fallen. First was a bad fall on my right artificial knee. Hit hard on tar mack at gas station. Still very sore, next on kitchen floor, landed on my right knuckle, two nights ago, I landed on my right knee on the bedroom floor. Hit my knee again really hard, knee of course doesn't seem to be injured ,, but I can't move my leg sideways at all.. So have called for a doc appt. I might have torn flesh in my leg. which will take a long time to heal.Well along with this I have "shingles" on the same leg from my ankle to the top of my leg and the small of my back. (FUN) I'm 83 and will celebrate 66 years of marriage tomorrow.
I will Pray for you and your shoulder. Your Faith is clearly strong. I am Blessed with Jesus helping me through this as well. I also like you do not let the TV keep me from getting things done. PTL in Jesus Name!!!!!!!
Will check into that. Thanks.
I believe you are correct to think being tired all the time is related to the meds. After surgery the doses i was given had me thinking my heart was so bad. That it was why i felt tired all the time. Those doses were supposef to be only for 3 months. I was changef to a diff cardiologist. The dose wasnt changed. I didnt know they were supposed to change the dose. Still constantly tired. Heart rate and blood pressure low. Finally i was told the doses were way to high and we shoyls see how things go with lower levels. Thank God for this doctor paying attention. I began to feel better right away. Then i got my legs back and over time. I got my life back. You may have to have the levels you take. I am sure it can cause you to be tired.
I am tired all the time after my open-heart surgery. My docs have no explanation except that I am getting older. My belief it is due to the bata blocker that I am now taking. My physical therapist said that my target heart range is 90 bpm vs. someone with out this med of 150 t0 120 bpm. In other words my exertion at 90 bpm is the same as some one who is not taking this med at 120 rpm.

RonBee
I go in every 3 months. First blood work. Then 3 months card. Repeat.
I enjoy sharing and learning on this site. Im with you @balubeje. Who thinks it ok to tell ud we are crazy. My results are fantastic. We all have different circumstances. Im just letting thid one go. Prayer is my peace and comfort with our Father. I take my life very serious.
i'm not sure who this is directed to but I get my pacemaker checked quarterly and see my EP once a year. I was fortunate to have one of the top EP's in the country and I am totally comfortable with our set up.
You ar crazy not to see your cards four time a year and have your pacemaker checked twice annual. I think that you need a new cardo.
Yep I can definitely feel the Trinity taking this journey with me. I wasn't worried about a heart attack at the time. More so on the back burner now as I am not sure if I would think the pacemaker is just helping out or something more serious is going on. I don't have a d-fib and I'm not sure that will be in my future. I make sure not to park in front of the TV it rarely comes on before 4pm and I am usually up and out of the house 3 out of 5 days during M-F and stay busy getting caught up on what I missed Sat and Sun. PTL for God's intervention. He did that for me with my back during VBS in July-I just told him if he wanted me to make it through the whole week He was just going to have to do something about my back and HE DID and I haven't had anymore issues. Now to get HIM on board with my left shoulder. Don't need to tell you to be a blessing sounds like you have that covered.
