NPR Report regarding pseudomonas in toothpaste
A BE support group in Dallas posted this information. It might need to be further verified but I thought I would pass it on just in case it is an absolute.
Stated: On NPR (National Public Radio) today, November 20, 2024, it was reported that pseudomas aeruginosa was found at a Tom’s of Maine plant that makes their popular brand of toothpaste.
So much is out of our control due to our needing things; foods, toothpaste, mouth wash etc. etc.; that others produce and sell to us.

I saw that in the news, too.
You are spot on - so much of mac and be is out of our control.
Thank you for posting this! You beat me to it 🙂 So good that we are spreading the word, Linda

1 ReactionApparently pseudomonas (among others) was not only found in toothpaste product but also in water, which was used to rinse down several pieces of equipment. Colgate-Palmolive did not get the memo to turn up the water heater!
Slightly related, I've been relieved and somewhat reassured that several hotels that I stayed in over summer and fall had extremely hot tap water (over 130F - yes, I travel with an instant read thermometer!) This hotness discourages growth of all sorts of not-good-for-us bacteria, including NTM, pseudomonas, legionella, etc.

3 ReactionsHi Scoop'
Travel with a thermometer.....thanks for the idea......We have to do what we have to do. It helps us in many ways when we feel we are doing right by ourselves.
I know about legionella and as well mycoplasma pneumonia....had them both together in the mid 80's....so....this BE may have been dormant and sleeping so to speak until just a few years ago when it "came alive" and I was finally diagnosed in 2022. Obviously I survived that.... really bad event. Liquid antibiotics 24/7 and good genes did the trick...oh.... and two good doctors for sure.
Water heater here turned up and going to be drained again this month.
