Any know if there’s any testing or diagnostics for natural neurotoxins? Also if you have been infected with neurotoxins is there any hope? Removal? Treatment for neurotoxins?

@nicosuave The doctors who would specialize in detoxing are likely in the field of environmental, integrative, or functional medicine. You can look for environmental docs at the Academy of Environmental Medicine on this site. https://www.aaemonline.org/

The doctor that lead important research and treatment for lots of these issues was in Dallas at the Environmental Health Center of Dallas. This is who my environmental doctor looked to for information. I have not been a patient there. I just know about them. https://www.ehcd.com/
You can find a lot of information on treatment at that website.

Are you experiencing symptoms that are unexplained? Why are you suspecting that these may be neurotoxins?

I noticed you have made a number of posts the last few days. When dealing with the unknown, it is usual to rule out the more common problems first before delving into such rare occurrences as neurotoxin.

Since another post mentioned drinking untreated creek water, and you have severe intestinal symptoms, you probably need a complete screening for water borne bacterial, viral and parasitic infections. Some that come to mind and can cause your symptoms include e. Coli, Guardia, salmonella and chigallosis, to name just a few.

It is also really important to share the location where it happened as there are many local pathogens to consider.

Have you asked to be referred to a gastroenterologist or infectious disease specialist?

Hi thank you for your input! I am seeing a gi currently and have asked my GP to refer me to infectious diseases and even told her about the river water I drank and the mushroom I consumed however she said she can’t refer me to a infectious disease doctor unless I have tested positive for infection but she won’t run any more tests other than one stool culture that came back negative!
