Type 2 Diabetes: I have neuropathy in my feet and legs

I am suffering so much with this I can barely take it. Tonight is incredibly painful. I am a Type 2 diabetic. I have adverse reactions to many of the meds the MD has had me try. Gabapentin works some but if I try to take it everyday I get horrible back pain. Same with anti depressants. I get cramping if I increase the dose. I try a few Motrin, no help. Tonight is bad. I have a foot massage machine and used that, Lidocaine and Ativan. Finally I had to take 1/2 of a Vicodin, which is my last resort when I am at an 8 in pain. Are there any tips people use when it’s a bad night? Thank you.

Hi Deanna, I’m glad you have found something that works for you since there are so many choices and not all are successful. I am guessing you do not take gabapentin or lyrica. Many here take the alpha lipoic acid, myself included and find it helps a lot with the pain. We have mentioned brand names and where to purchase on this forum in the past so I assume it’s ok. I for one would like to know what exactly you are using, I thought arnica was to prevent bruising, didn’t know it helped with pain. Thanks, Helen

Hi Helen, the topical I use is "MyPainAway Fibro Cream." It's said "To relieve pains associated with fibromyalgia and neuropathy." I ordered it online from Amazon. No, I haven't tried the other two products you mentioned. ~Deanna
