Neuropathy after serious Staph infection in right foot and surgery .
Had serious Staph infection in right foot that required surgery and 2 week hospital stay for PICC line injections of antibiotics. After release from hospital I now have neuropathy in legs, feet and small fingers in both hands.
I am seeing some improvement in the neuropathy by taking liquid vitamin B12 with Folic Acid. I have been doing that for approximately 4 weeks.
I also just started taking CoQ10 to see if that also help.

Yes, when I was in the hospital for 2 weeks with my staph foot surgery it felt like 2 months!! I have some neuropathy in my feet and some in my hands. It does seem to get a little better with the liquid vitamin B12 and folic acid. I started using that about 4 weeks ago. I buy the liquid B12 and folic acid from the vitaminshoppee.com. they have a bogo buy one/get one free right now. Maybe around $18. Worth a try.
Just some suggestions. I think that your back surgery resulted in something pushing on your spine. Get another MRI and talk to a back specialist to see what they think may be the problem. It could be assisted by a surgeon who specializes in microsurgery. He might be able to carve away the bone or scares that may be pushing on the spine. Good Luck- the disease really sucks. You may only stop some progression. My microsurgeon stopped my drop foot but not the neuropathy that still progresses in my feet.
Thank you snagydude. How did the doc stop your drop foot?
My drop foot was just starting to cause a significant limp and pulling of the foot. It went away about 3 days after the surgery. I wish you good luck.
